• Drink lots of water, especially the day of your procedure.

PRFM: Platelet-Rich Plasma Fibrin Matrix

The fibrin matrix in this platelet-rich plasma protects and preserves the platelets. PRFM can be used for:

What to expect:

Our nurse practitioner will draw a small amount of your blood. The blood will be placed in a vaccutainer and spun down using a centrifuge. During this process, the plasma and platelets separate from the other blood cells, and this is what is used for the PRFM. The plasma and platelets are then transferred to a second tube. A small amount of calcium chloride solution is added and this forms the PRFM. Numbing cream is applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure to minimize discomfort. The PRFM is then applied to the treatment area using a microneedling technique, which makes small incisions in the skin to receive the PRFM. The growth factors in the PRFM then stimulate the growth of collagen and tissue enhancement.

There is little to no downtime after the procedure. The treatment area can be red or sensitive 1-2 days following the treatment.
